Battle Royale Game Idea

Based on the movie and novel, here's what I'd put into a BR game for X360:It'd be Xbox Live Multiplayer, and it's be first person. You start off in a basic create a character screen. It wouldn't be very in depth just things like:Skin colorGenderHeightWeightHair style and colorchoice between tan and black school uniform maybe other colors IDK You could set the options, too. Like lenght of days, danger zones, and number of players etcetera. Then you'd be sitting on a bus it'd be kind of like the game lobby, people would get on the bus, and you can talk with them while the game loads. When its done, you end up in the room with the iinstructions, etc. it'd be brief. But if you attacked an official the army would shoot you. Eventually you get your bag and spawn on the island with your randomized tool/weapon. if you know the series, you know that weapons are very lucky or unlucky. Someone might start off with an Uzi, while another would start off with a fork. Each day would be about 8 minutes. Danger zones would be active too, and if noone wins by day 3 you all lose, like inthe movie. Heres my idea for controls. Walk - Left StickCrouch - Press LSJump - ASwitch weapons (could only hold 2 big weapons, 2 small, and 2 misc.) - RB and LBMelee - BInteract - Y (open doors etc.)Sprint - LT (cannot see crosshair while sprinting, but you can long jump)Map + Danger Zones - back (this would not pause the game)Also, health would be way realistic. It would be - One shot to the head with a gun powerful enough to do it, kills you. I would want the game to be fast paced during fighting, but also strategic, since the island would be quite big, with vacant shacks, and bridges and sorts. This is what I think, anyone think its good?Battle Royale Game Idea
I have also thought that BR would make a pretty badass game. Now some smart developer out there just needs to get started!Battle Royale Game Idea
I would love a BR game. I think that it should include a story single player mode, where you can take control of any character, and play them out corresponding heavily to the book. For online modes there should be a create a character mode, that should be highly detailed and a mode were you pick a character from the book. this game should be in an open world environment, like crysis, and not fast paced, but relying heavily on alliances and tactics. The collars should still be an important part of the game, along with the randomness of the weapons you acquire.
This would be a game I'd definately check out. I would like to have longer days though :) Maybe an option where we can set the time that each day lasts as we like.

@FoggelYeah I know what you mean about days lasting longer and stuff. I have it in the original post that you could be able to change the time of each day, regarding how much time you want to play, or if you want it to be a faster more intense game. Also about the whole campaign mode, I like the idea of playing as one of the characters form the story. But I think for online multiplayer, I'd rather create my own character, also, i doubt XBL could handle 42 people at once (thats the # of characters), so I think that would only work in single player campaign, but multiplayer Local could work. Maybe even Co-Op Locally.
We don't have to limit it to the 360, it could be for a future console or the P.C.
Sounds like a good game, but it sounds like a game i have played before.
This sounds awesome actually. You have to make the characters weak enough where anybody can win, though. Or the person with the uzi would just win every time. Even if you do get like...a trash lid, you can probably sneak up on somebody with a gun and kill them. Stealth should be a big part of it.Well, it's a great idea, but probably very hard to properly balance in an online environment..
Battle Royale was never about balance. It's more about overcoming imbalance with skill and strategy. Go watch the movie again.
Yeah...but that's never good work in a video game. Because typical rule in a video game is, best weapon wins. Unless the players are of greatly varied skill. What I was saying is they need to come up with a right way of play so that anybody can win. They can overcome the odds, even if they get like..binoculars or something as a weapon.
battle royale... BATTLE ROYALE!!!... i liked the book and movie... i'd play your game... but there would have to be very powerful measures in place to stop cheaters and abusers... and also an incerdibly long list of actions so as to vary the game greatly... like climbing a tree or resting up against it... and vaulting over a boulder or rolling over it and changing the direction you were running in... and the amount of weapons and thier stats would have to be great in number... and constantly changing due to patches, updates, and DLC preferably... could be a good one tho... it would certainly have a nice fan base
Well then, jks22112, you've effectively removed what makes BR interesting and turned it into a crappy multiplayer game. Besides, how would you even make it so the binoculars guy could easily defeat the UZI player? As to having players of varied skill, well, that's generally what multiplayer is like, isn't it? And in an environment like BR, only the most incredibly skilled are going to win every time, even with crappy weapons. But it will be the rare win by the under-armed that will be highly valued, like when you get a knife kill in COD4!Personally though, I think the main strength of this game would be in the single player campaign, because what multiplayer will miss out on is the aspect of some classmates being friends who wouldn't willingly kill each other outright. You could try to employ some kind of clique system to the multiplayer that penalizes players for killing 'friend' classmates before the others, but yeah, I'm not sure that would work so well either.
I didn't feel like trying to explain this, because it's late, but whatever.People need to have human reactions to things. Like say the binoculars guy sneaks up on the uzi guy and hits him in the back of the skull. Probably not enough to kill him but enough to make him fall down, probably drop his gun, then there would need to be a scramble for the gun. There is a lot that could happen. Games need to come further before a good game like this is possible.Pretty much, you can't just have a life bar, but the game needs to be based on what would happen, and actual anatomy of the human body, and reactions to pain, getting hit, and whatever. Like say you get into a fight, but get stabbed in the process. That should have a huge effect on how you keep playing. Whether your character limps, or, whatever else they could do. Also a dude with a knife should not be able to charge ahead, take a few shots then kill the guy with the gun. Pretty much all reactions to all weapons need to be realistic to a normal human. That's kind of what I'm getting at.
It's a great point, and I agree. Yeah, it'd be all too easy to **** this one up with simplistic gameplay.

Yeah, I see your point, because in the movie Kadawa was surrounded by at least 5 people, and grabbed one dude who pulled the trigger of the uzi and Kadawa pointed his hand in the direction of the other 4, which'd be hard to implement in a Video Game. But, I would want something realistic, like someone said earlier, there'd be no health bar, all you'd see is red on the screen like blood, and when there's a lot, you know you need to hide. Also, I like the bit about climbing trees. If I weere creating this game, I would try to go as far away from a typical FPS as possible, because thats not what BR is. Also, just because one person has an uzi, doesn't mean they'd win from the start. You would have no idea where everyone is because there'd be no radar like in some FPS, so if someone can sneak up behind you with almost any weapon, then your most likely dead, unless you catch them.
