Won't somebody please think of the child ...

if i can be father starman4 for a minute or two... but i was speaking to someone earlier today and she just bought an x-box 360 for her son a few weeks ago.should there be more games for children on the console? i am talking about 13 and under. there are many great games out there right now, there is no denying that. but their target market is late teens and upwards. i have thought that most of the games on the console are rated incorrectly such as M and G and so on.am i humming and harring over nothing or is this valid? flicking through x-box 360 magazine and i see most of the games are war, crime... alot of the things that aren't acceptable in society. children or young teenagers may or may not read the magazine but i think that microsoft needs to sit up and take notice.i don't really have a problem with it myself except, what is it teaching the children out there around the world? should there be more awareness?Won't somebody please think of the child ...
Natal will more than likely change this as it is targeting a more casual audience so it will bring in games that target younger people.Edit: I truly hope that children aren't learning anything from video games.. Besides a few morals that's about all.Won't somebody please think of the child ...
I would like to see a return of platformers. It is a dieing genre that everyone can enjoy.
screw the children...she shouldve got a wii ..thats for kids

The Wii is for everyone actually.
that lady bought the wrong console for her kid than, it should of been the Wii
I get tired of all the comments saying the Wii is for kids. It only shows that you are all still kids. The Wii is a console for everyone, with great games for every age. On topic, as another person said, Natal will change all of that. Those games will be directed at the casual crowd and the younger audience.
LOL who the hell teaches their child with video games? Video games are meant as a source of fun, a get away from normal life; not a substitute/extenuation for school
that lady bought the wrong console for her kid than, it should of been the Wii
Every console is good enough for anybody. There is no right and wrong options when it comes to video games. As long as you have fun, that's all that matters.

Children are beyond help these days. 10 is new 13 basically, if they aren't well raised by then it will be like talking to a wall. But sadly, its not even their fault its the parents and pop culture media. Yeah videogames has a hand in the downfall of our society but celebrities and the message of ''tolerance'' had a much greater effect than videogams.
you know who should be thinking of the children? the parents, microsoft caters to their target market and is successfully doing so; im sure most parents have the mental capacity to figure which console and which games are right for their children, instead of purchasing a console and not wanting to buy any games for their child
Viva PinataBanjo Kazooany Lego gametons of random xbla games

How have video games messed up society? I have been playing violent games for around fifteen years and I don't disrespect others or beat people up.
The Wii is for kids. that is my opinion. 360 and ps3 are for more mature people. Sorry i dont sit in my room acting cool with my wiimote.
Video games only affect the weak minded, who allow themselves to think video games are real. Now, they just blame it on the video games, because in Modern america, you cant blame people. Its always someone elses fault. I dont think video games will mkae kids violent, if you educate the properly.

My grandparents have a Wii and play it almost every day! There's no way that the Wii can be considered a child's console...no way
