Guitar Hero / Rock Band

Which series do you think is better? I'd have to say Rock Band.Firstly, my first music game was Guitar Hero 2 for the 360, and i loved it. Played it everyday, beat every song on expert, perfected half of them. I was a guitar hero freak. Same exact thing happened for me on GH3. But then Rock Band came into the picture, i didn't think much of it and thought of it as a rip off, but it was competly different. A very wide range of music selections, a enjoyable career mode that you can do with 3 other friends instead of just 2. I also loved the whole drums/singing that got added into it. Rock Band took over as my favorite game, mainly because Guitar Hero hadn't released anything in awhile. Then around the time RB 2 was coming out, GH had GH World Tour. I bought RB2, and still lovingly play it. I rented world tour, and i have to say i was very displeased. They tried to do the 4 instrument thing, because rock band was taking their spotlight. Being a drummer in real life, i usually play the drums in these games and the drums on Guitar hero were awful for me, the whole look of the game and the cheap noises it makes when you hit the drums before or after a song, the vocal fretboard thing was a little unattractive as well. Also, most of the guitar parts were very, very easy. I didnt feel a challenge like in GH3. I'll have to stick with Rock Band now, mainly because Guitar Hero has introduced more instruments, and hasn't given me challenging songs. It's more focused on 4 player fun instead of the core 1-2 player challenge of GH 1-3.This is just an opinion, don't hate on me.Guitar Hero / Rock Band
guitar hero, definetly. i HATE the guitar in rock band, the notes look so stupid and it feels so weird playing them plus gh3 is soo much more chalenging. and then theres world tour, which is basically a better rock band imo, so yeahGuitar Hero / Rock Band

GH isn't more challenging.. the hammer on / pull off window is extremely big so solos take no skill at all. Rock Band also gets a lot more DLC.

Rock band is too unforgiving (in terms of hammer ons and in the speed in which you fail, im comparing hard mode on both of them btw) which takes away from the fun. Overall i prefer GH but in terms of DLC rock band destroys GH.. Its good to see you can download lots of metal :P

Guitar Hero. the graphics are TONS better, it's more challenging, and it's a better game in general. :P
I was a big Guitar Hero fan and felt the same way when I bought Rock Band 2 and then bought World Tour later, something seemed different about the game for some reason.

to bad it was competing with Rock Band 2 and world tour just isn't party friendly enough
I prefer Rock Band. It just seems more like your actually simulating playing the actual song, especially when you're with other people, than just playing a game.
i liked GHWT better. but yeah the DLC is better on RB2 plus lots of ppl still play RB2 online unlike GH:WT
I would say Rock Band but that opinion is pretty biased as is all the other opinions on this page.
you guys have it all wrong.You are comparing gh 1,2 and 3 to Rock Band!Its impossible. They seem like two same games but they're NOT!Rock Band should be compared with GHWT and everybody knows that sucked for reasons I could explain for days and days if anybody asks.However gh 1,2 and 3 are in a league of their own. And they are damn good games.

Oh yes. Its just so terrible and painful to play when theres a little KFC logo somewhere in the venue. And i dont know how the hell you think the drums are better. More pads, and the timing window is way better. drum rolls are actually possible to nail.

GH all the way

More pads, and the timing window is way better. drum rolls are actually possible to nail.[/QUOTE]if there wasnt any gh drums the the rb drums would be good but since there is the gh drums put the rb drums to shame. gh drum kit is set up perfectly and more challenging. i hate when seeing people do hard songs on expert and expert+ in gh with the rb drums, its not the same its alot easier and isnt that impressive to me

The GHWT drums suck, and the star power mechanic is awful. The actual drums themselves are crappy, the symbols are not needed at all and are flimsy at best, and if you want to use star power you have to stop your current beat and hit both symbols, which is a gigantic pain on songs with even marginally technical/fast beats.
