That happened to a friend's Arcade console, and he ended up exchanging it. Sorry to bring the bad news.EDIT: His console worked, but only after opening and closing the tray for 10 minutes. We joked it was ''warming up.'' If you're within the exchange period, get a new console. If not, call Microsoft and see if a replacement/fix can be done for free or minimal cost. when i had a problem with my x-box 360 the users on this forum suggested i call microsoft. i suggest you do the same.i don't blame you at all for trying to get help here though. what i will also suggest too is that you clean the discs before you put them in the machine but microsoft is your best bet for getting help, the console may have to be repaired.:(
While it's reading tap on the top of the xbox, keep doing it until it works

Your Disc Drive has the open tray problem.1. If you have warranty still send it in2. Knocking on top of where the disc drive is will make it work but this is temporary.3. If your warranty is out then try and fix it yourself. I just dusted mine and it fixed the prob.
Actually try this. Much easier than tapping. I do this a few times, and it works
