44'' LCD FULL HD TV or BUILD A NEW G ...

sorry i dont know which is the right place to post this as it involves with pc and 360 gamers. Its been a year of saving now and i have saved enough money to buy just one my budget is around $2500, Ever since i bought my Xbox 360 ive been playing it on SDTV, Its not as enjoyable as playing it in HD TV, For example. I cant even play Star ocean 4 any further than 30cm away because the font are sooooo tiny they look squashed, ive tried playing once on a hd tv and you can read it beautifully 5metres away. Thats one reason why i want to get a hd tv

Now i also want to get a new rig, One with Sli ready. That means i need a new mobo, so i thought why not just completely build a new gaming rig. My current pc is quite old now, i got it 2 years ago here are the specProcessor: Intel Core Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz
Memory: 2046MB RAM
Hard Drive: 1000 GB
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTnow my other option is just buy more ram, and a gtx 295 and a new mobo, and power supply.. im going to spend as much to have a really really good pc so i wont have to upgrade in 4 years time or so...44'' LCD FULL HD TV or BUILD A NEW G ...
oh btw im only going to use the tv for playing my xbox 360, i dont watch movies or tv much... and also i just recently got that 9800gt, about 2 months ago. im not really happy with it44'' LCD FULL HD TV or BUILD A NEW G ...
Your not happy about the 9800? I got myself a 9500 not to long ago and I like it..I think you should go for the HD TV ;)Hope this helpsAstarias
I depends on which you use more. I agree that the 360 is much, much better on a HDTV, but if you only use it occasionally, then its not worth it. Same with the PC. Personally, I would go for the HDTV.

MUCH more impressive.

hmm i see your dilemma. i was a AVID pc gamer for the past year, and im on and off for months. i play tons of WoW, then games like City of heroes/villains, guild wars, age of conan, etc. so obviously i didnt need to spend as much money as you for anything. now personally, im playing my 360 atm, and i do have a hdtv.when i first got it this winter, i actually hooked it up to my pc (its a 32' btw) and i played WoW and stuff on it... its beautiful. so if u go with the tv u dont have much to hurt. ur specs look pretty decent and i dont know about you, but if i was playing some pretty high end games with thse specs i wouldnt really complain...i say get the tv, screw pc gaming, and go use all that money and get a ton of good 360 games :D (thats what i did two days ago and yesterday actually!)

p.s theres not that many good games that are out on xbox 360 atm. not till sept to december anyways..
Not much wrong with your current PC spec, and since you already have a quad core CPU (and one of the best overclockers) why not simply buy a new heat sink for it and overclock it to 3.0GHz or beyond. Plenty of guides on the web for exactly that chip since it was such a good one for overclocking. You could double up on your RAM as well very cheaply given current prices - around the price of a new game.

Looking at your Xfire profile it doesn't look like any of the games you have been playing even stress your current PC that much, so you might as well stick with it for a while. Go for the new TV and enjoy the big upgrade it offers. If it goes to 1080p you could even hook your PC up to it and use it as a monitor :) 1900x1080 is not a bad resolution to be gaming at!!
Buy new gaming rig. Hook up 360 to LCD monitor. It's a win win. It also how i play haha.
well thats partially true. i thought that as well, but i only recently realized a game doesnt have to get a 9 at GS to be good! i bought banjo kazooie for 9 bucks and Prince of Persia for 15, and im having tons of fun with them! and since ur a pc gamer, u should be familiar with UT3 which i also just got, and its aweeesoomeeeee!!! plus, i played Fable 2 which was def enjoyable the first run through, and then games like TAles of Vesperia ill be playing soon. theres fighting games u wouldnt be able to play on pc (i.e. Street fighter and Soul Calibur) and then soon enough ODST and MW2 will be out! my favorite thing to do is go to gamestop and look for games under 15 bucks... they are always the funnest, since u know u didnt pay much! perfectDark zero, kameo, etc. the list goes ! just give it a shot, like 40 bucks into it, and if u have some fun get the hdtv
Get the TV, the jump from SD to HD is epic and gorgeous.
got a blank wall? for 2500 bucks you can get a hd projector! i got a panasonic for that money and a screen runnin 1080p thats 5m wide! best thing i ever bought. dont worry bout globe replacement im 3'5 years and still on the original bulb. words can not descebe how fuc*in awsome it is.
Get a new pc. I just bought a new pc with the graphics card you mentioned, the GTX 295. It's awesome. I got an i7 920 and 6GB 1600MHz RAM. It's the best gaming purchase I've ever made. I use it on my HDTV though. If you've got a good monitor with a high resolution I say get the pc. If not get the HDTV.
I can't see why you can't work up an estimate and get both things:

- 42' LCD Full HD has to be around $900-1000, and as for the gaming rig, if you build it yourself buying the parts in newegg, I can't see why you couldn't build your rig for around $1500
You should wait on the graphics card because ATI and NVIDIA are releasing a ''Groundbreaking, record shattering'' new one this year., ON second thought, if you want ur pc now, you could get both for your budget i assume.
Dude,

I got myself a 47'' 1080p Toshiba for 949 + Free shipping! I'd say go with that and with the rest of your money buy a home theater in a box 7.1 system. It allows you to really immerse yourself in the experience and helps create and epic experience! Also if your graphic card supports it, you can hook up your PC to your new TV @ 1920 x 1080 via HMDI-DVI cable. 47 inches of Firefox is pretty awesome. :)
sorry i forgot to mention im from australia, i forgot to put $2500au dollars. 42'' FULL HD TV here are in range from $2000-$3000.

as for the PC i can get all this for $2100
