Xbox 360 Elite Red Rings of Death (RROD)

Well I bought my xbox 360 Elite on September 27 of 2007 and for some reason it got the RROD today. In the morning it worked perfectly but at night when I turned it on, it froze during the start up screen, which by the way was all pixilated for some reason. The I closed it and turn it on again and it worked fine. I put in a game but as it was loading the game disc it froze again. So I finally closed it and turned it on again, and nothing happened, except, out of the blue, the red rings start to flash. So what do I do, should I call Microsoft or what.P.S. I do not have and insurence on my consol, so I was wondering, will I get another xbox from Microsoft for free, or will I have to pay. Also I live in Canada so just in case their are some rules concerning this issue that only apply in America, I might not be affected. Lastly, I thought the Xbox 360 Elite was supposed to eliminate or reduce the chance of getting the RROD, so how did I recieve the red rings of death after only 1 year and just under 9 months?Xbox 360 Elite Red Rings of Death (RROD)

I thought it was a three year warranty, and yes, you should call them.
