Andrew Ryan's what makes Bioshock good.. Without no Andrew Ryan Bioshock has a mediocre shooter at best.And on topic, Lamest villian is Bowser. They basically just took every other component of Mario and added it in a villian. The Flower Plants, Mushrooms, Turtles, etc.

I want to hook up my 360 to my laptop, but I think it may have a virus that I can't get rid of. It hasn't done anything to my computer, but McAfee found something one time that it couldn't fix - and I lost myWindows XP reinstallation CD.Can 360 get this virus if I do the Windows media center linkup between the two?can 360 get a virus from computer?

No. this is mainly because it is a windows virus and is programmed to take advantage of the windows coding. As far as i know the xbox doesnt run any code similar to windows except a alternative to directx 9 which most viruses dont even bother using because it doesnt play a big role in hacking. Im pretty sure there is a 360 virus, but u have a .0001% chance of playing and or meeting anyone who has any knowledge on how to create one. BTW u should take care of that virus before u get screwed over. if u need help getting rid of it let me know, and ill help u.

Face plate....void warranty?

Question: If I was to paint my face plate black...would that void my warranty?
I have ALL black electronics, and a white 360....and it looks so ugly, it just stands out.I don't really want to spend like 20 bucks on a black face plate when I could just paint one myself.Will this void my warranty? Or if I get the RROD can I just ship my 360 without the face plate?Also, to anyone who has done this before, what type of paint did you use? im assuming spray paint? Face plate....void warranty?
I am not really sure but my guess would be yes that it would void your warranty. Altering your xbox with anything that is not something that microsoft made for it or something that is made for xbox that microsoft recognizes is usually a sure way to void a warrantyFace plate....void warranty?

No you can do what you like to your faceplate since it is designed to be removed and interchanged with other ones. In the event your 360 dies you can send it off without a faceplate on, and you just get one back without a faceplate. My friend did a custom paint job on his, and that what happened when he had to send his off for repairs.



Just don't paint the faceplate while it is still attached to your console, as paint, or paint fumes getting inside the electronics won't do it any good :)
The only problem you may run into is losing your faceplate if you have to send your unit to Microsoft for repairs. You won't void it by taking it off and painting it.

I have decided to paint it. What paint do you guys normally use? I figured spray paint, but I don't know how I would cover up the senser and the power light and still get an even coat. I was thinking maybe just sanding it down and using an acryllic black paint. that way i could get an even line around the sensors
Just use masking tape. Cover the pieces that you don't want painted with appropriately cut pieces of tape and you can give the rest a nice even coat. Since the texture is that of a matte finish, spray paint will work just fine, just be sure to be about 18-20 inches away. This is exactly what I did when I painted my white wireless adapter to match my elite. Let us know how it goes.

no, it won't that is why the faceplate can come off, they sell other colored faceplates. if u do i would suggest u take it off if u have to send it to microsoft for some reason.
Mask off the areas you don't want painted, spray paint it, then spray a protective coat onto it to make it more resistant to scrapes and scratches.



Also think about how you will do the memory unit and USB covers which are both spring loaded. They can get stuck with paint, and when pushed in would show a line of white where the paint didn't cover them. It may be best to remove them, paint separately, then re-assemble it once dried.
u can paint the whole console except for the warranty sticker the the barcode on the back. you would be just fine.
I would talk off the face plate off of the system before you do such a thing, other than that, the face plate was meant to be interchangeable with others so it shouldn't hurt anything.

No. The face plate is not a part of the console. They even ask you to take it off when you send it in for repair. I think you can even paint for 360. I heard about someone who sent a 360 with autographs by the entire Bungie and got his console repaired... Although they washed the autographs. Long story.

Point Lookout or Broken Steel?

Okay, so I have gotten Operation: Anchorage and The Piit, but I've never yet been able to get enough money for the Broken Steel. So I was going to wait up for my Birthday and then buy it as quickly as possible. Then I found out that they were coming out with two new installments and the next one was going three days before my birthday.At first I shrugged it off, because it seemed to be exactly like The Pitt, but just set in the hick parts of Maryland. Then I started hearing it was going to be the best and everyone is praising it as the DLC to get as it is the most open one yet.So my question to you is... should I get Point Lookout and then Broken Steel when I can, which will be next week, or get Broken Steel first and then next week get Point Lookout?Point Lookout or Broken Steel?

I have all the DLC and i would say get both if you can because you really want that level 30 cap from Broken Steel, but Point Lookout is easily IMO the best DLC they have out.

Fire Fight is exclusive to ODST. In Fire Fight you will play as ODSTs(and Johnson if you pre-order). Theres a separate disc included that is Halo 3's multiplayer which is the exact same multiplayer in the original Halo 3.

Beginner friendly soccer game?

I'm a huge sports fan, but like everyone else in the U.S. I hated soccer without giving it much of a chance. I've been watching the Fifa Confederation Cup thing on ESPN and it's actually entertaining. I mostly only play sports games anyway and figured I would like to get a soccer game, but which is the most beginner friendly? In my opinion, I would get fifa 09, it doesn't cost much and it's the best ''soccer'' game out at the moment.It's sooo much better and easier then fifa 08. It also has a Be a Pro season mode which is fun.If i was you, i would play manager mode for a bit untill you go onto ranked matches.If your still unsure, maybe rent some ''soccer'' games and try them out.But i advise you on getting Fifa 09 :D
Fifa and Pro Evolution Soccer are the best two series if I remember right.I always preferred Pro Evo but I hear Fifa is the better series at the moment.
I would suggest you get a game from the FIFA series due to their accessability and fun-ness(yes i know). You should get either Fifa 08 or Fifa 09 since you can have them for less than $30 if you buy used, they are a great game with great online

That happened to a friend's Arcade console, and he ended up exchanging it. Sorry to bring the bad news.EDIT: His console worked, but only after opening and closing the tray for 10 minutes. We joked it was ''warming up.'' If you're within the exchange period, get a new console. If not, call Microsoft and see if a replacement/fix can be done for free or minimal cost. Your Disc Drive has the open tray problem.1. If you have warranty still send it in2. Knocking on top of where the disc drive is will make it work but this is temporary.3. If your warranty is out then try and fix it yourself. I just dusted mine and it fixed the prob.

so i have been waiting on the review of fight night round 4 just to see what they gave the game but still nothing, im still buying regardless. Another gaming website I went to already had a review on the 23rd. This is pretty much with all the games too. So do you agree with them being slow on the reviews?gamespot is slow....
They are slow sometimes but just go to metacritic you can get the average.gamespot is slow....
They say it helps them create a better judgement on the game. Personally, I think reviews should be out either before or the day of release latest.
Last I heard they're understaffed, and I'm guessing they're probably working on the review as we speak. Just wait a bit, it'll probably be up fairly soon

I mean, the game goes gold a few weeks before it comes out in stores so reviewers would at least have it by then if not a bit sooner and that's plenty of time to review a game.
I just look under user score and critic score, then look up a review on a different site. I don't really like the scores Gamespot gave most games, so yeah... hard to trust the review anyways

Call of Duty 3 or Lost Planet?

I have XBL and a HDTV, so which game is best in terms of gameplay, graphics and longevity (not too bothered about sound or story)?Call of Duty 3 or Lost Planet?

CoD 3 has a far superior MP and better story and dialogue.
COD 3, while it does have better multiplayer than LP on the surface, it not a good game.  If you are buying for single player, this is not a good choice.  However, LP really depends on who is playing it whether or not it is liked.  I love it, but I can get past the cheezy dialogue and quirky camera (which you can change to a normal fixed one if you like).  I can't bring myself to recommend COD 3 as I am trying to sell it, so my pick would be Lost Planet.
i choose COD 3 because unlike the guy above me... i believe the game play is amazing even on single player... but multiplayer is the best... i personally dont liek the concept of Lost Planet and i like strictly First Person Shooters
I'd say Lost Planet for sure.  Call of Duty gets old fast.  It's nice to use mechs in multiplayer.

Well, Lost Planet can be beaten in 8 hours approx. and the online is quite fun. COD 3 is more challenging and the single player campaign is quite longer. The multiplayer is very good if you like WWII games. To decide you have to ask yourself this question: Did you like Battlefield 1942's MP or do you like the futuristic based MP better?

Lost Planet is really an underrated game. Though I haven't played CoD3, I have played CoD2, which I hear is exactly the same but with a different setting. LP's story is not as bad as people say as long as you pay attention to it; the graphics are beautiful (explosions particularily) and the gameplay is fun but challening. The boss fights were some of the hardest I've played yet. Online is a blast yet since you can mix it up with the mechs, and the levels are HUGE. Go with LP so spice up your game collection.
lost planet, cod3 is crap imo, and cod3 and cod2 are practically different games (two different devs). they feel nothing alike.
I would go with Lost Planet for the single player, a lot more enjoyable and challenging.
But if you want one for Multiplayer CoD 3 is your best choice

I think both are worth getting but if you can only get one right now get Lost Planet.
They are both good, but different games....COD3 is a must have for any COD fan...Lost Planet is another 360 graphical show case with decent single player and great MP.
I love COD3. Pretty much all I do in that game is play online.

Same here, it looked too much like a gore fest to me which isn't always appealing to me
I would probably play back through it just to see how I could do with all of the powers unlocked in the entire game. I would have fun doing that, but other than that not really any replayability. I agree with the fact that without multiplayer, games are done after one play through.

I traded [PROTOTYPE] in at EB Games yesterday for 41 dollars...and got Red Faction Guerilla with my Edge Card !
I beat it and it's still pure mayhem and fun. This is a keeper. Than again, I really never get rid of games after I beat 'em. I enjoy my collection.

I was going to buy this game on day one. Where I live, retailers get games early, so a friend of mine was able to get the game on PS3 about a week before it came out. When I tried it out on his PS3, I didin't like it much... so I ended up not buying it. I had really high ambitions for it, and hoped it would top inFamous... but that obviously did not happen.

Sup guys im a huge fan of college football and i love Ncaa football game.I buy it every year and always play campus legend mode.BUT there are alot things that could be better for the mode.Year after year it seems that EA thinks that campus legend is perfect or something cuz the lack of adding,changing,and fixing features in the mode.well i made a list of things that I personally think that would make the mode awesome.Also im gonna point out somethings that just make me wanna pull my hair out that to me seems like a no brainer to fixed or changed.1.''Camera Angles'' To be honest you think that the EA team would play there own game and notice theres flaw here.Its very hard to see defenders when your the QB and throw a pick because your cant see the CB playing zone OR a RB simply breaking off to the corner but gets tackled because you didnt even know he was blocked or not.Also on Defense it can be a pain cuz when a RB runs a flats route its very hard to defend someone you cant see.I think they should use the R stick to give you control of the camera for you to decide which way you wanna look at.(example like first person shooters how they have one stick to move and the other to look around) instead of just holding down the L trigger to view a air view which i think should be removed so the camera is more low like your really in the game. (but no first person view)2.''High School Seaon'' I find it very difficult to judge a players skill by playing four games.They should add a full senior year season.All 11 games including the state you can pick from.3.''High School Scouting'' Lets be realistic you cant pick which college team to play for.I think that having the choice takes away some of the excitment that there is when college state should have first dibs on scouting you.So every team in your state should take a look at you atleast once.(maybe even more times to see if your consisdent or if you played outstanding) they should also add a high school newspaper (like the one they have for campus legend of your school) to help with getting your name out there so that attracts other schools in other states.Maybe give you headlines if you make a game wining play or have a huge game.The teams not your state should be scouting you for a reason to look for future replacement.example (if your a QB then schools like to become a starter and thats all.Which to me is a big flaw because practice is what makes the players they are today.They need to make practice give you the bonuses that are given in the(evening activities) depending on how well you do and what you do in practice should give you a bonus for the upcoming game.(like if you your a WR and you catch every ball thrown to you that should boost your catching for that upcoming game)this way to are able to control what atttibutes you wanna focus on if your playing a tough game this week.Practice should be out of ten plays like it is in the game already but also adding drills after the practice of your choice on what you think you need to improve in.(like if your a RB then you can work on drills just for catching the ball,breaking tackles,even like a 40 yard dash to up your speed) note. the boosts are not permanite.6.''Evening Acrivities'' In the game this a very simple option you choose if you wanna lift weights,hit the books going to pep rallys,eating contests,doing charity events,fundrasiers anything that will help you get noticed and more popular.Second there should be a option to study for school of you seem to not do becoming the starter is so easy its dumb.In a month any one can become the starter and even beat a player like tebow out of his starting job.Becoming a starter should be alot more that.If the starter is a impact player then in no way should he lose his job to you.(unless he gets injured)Perhaps the starter isnt a impact player then hard work in the practice mode is where you will try and win the starting job.Maybe even waiting a full year to get the chance to play might be in store for some.This will also affect what school your looking into playing for.But the game need to have more realistic way of how to earn the starting job.8.''Campus Legend Difficulty'' I play on one mode only(Heisman) but in campus legend this setting seems to be one sided and has no balance.Like im a beliver of anything can happen in college football but sometimes this setting takes it to a whole diffrent kinda football.example it seems that you are a RB and when the difficulty is set to heisman seems like your blockers are all a sudden the worse ever.(how is a player of a skill setting of 90 get beat by a player that is a 80 almost everytime) to me thats a huge flaw.the setting should test your skill but still remain the skill of the players around you.As a QB i find myself having no time to get a pass off even if my Offensive line is nasty.They need to get rid of any difficulty in campus legend mode and make it based on how good the team is plus the momentum thats in the game.Becasue if you watch college football momentum is what wins games.Well guys thanks for reading my Choosing a Controller

I'm going to be purchasing an Xbox 360 Elite soon but I'm also going to be picking up an extra controller. My question (or questions) is concerning which controller to get. I'd like to avoid getting a wired controller just because. However, it seems to me that there are two types of wireless controllers. One with a rechargeable battery pack and the other requires two AA batteries. Which of these options offers the longest battery life? Also, from a financial standpoint, which type would be the cheapest but still a reliable product to purchase? Keeping in mind that either way I will be buying something to either recharge the batteries or pack itself. Also, are there any controllers that do not come with the rumble feature? Or can I turn this off if the controller does have it?I've looked into the play and charge kit but I'm wondering how quickly does it take for the battery to recharge? I've also spotted the quick charge kit, which I am also curious as to how long it takes to recharge a battery pack.Thanks in advance for any answers I may receive.Choosing a Controller
I believe Microsoft has a controller with a charge kit with it. I'm not sure how much it is, but I would go with the official brand. I've found the official controllers to be much more reliable. Choosing a Controller
A wireless controller is capable of using both rechargeable packs AND batteries. When you buy a controller without the rechargeable pack it come with the battery holder, you can use alkaline or Ni-Cads (I am sure you can use the new Lithium rechargeables, too). If you buy it without then you can buy the rechargeable pack separate with either a Quick Charge or Play %26 Charge, that way you can have the best of both worlds.As for the rumble, you can turn it off through the Xbox's menu settings.Now you just have to choose a color. 8)
Quick Charge Kit:Charge one battery pack in less than two hours, or two packs in less than four hours.Play n Charge:Doesn't say but I have it and it's taken anywhere from an hour to 4-5 hours depending on how depleted the battery was to begin with, how much you play while charging and how much it rumbles the entire time.Which is cheaper? Well they both come with one rechargeable battery but the Quick Charge is @ $29.99 while the Play %26 Charge is $19.99 so obviously the Play %26 Charge - it's the one I recommend.

I use rechargeable AA batteries with my regular wireless controller. I think that's the best option as you can use them for anything and they might be cheaper to replace when they wear out.

If you've already played the other Katamari games then you're not missing out on much. Not to say it's bad but it's not as long as Katamari Damacy, We Love Katamari and maybe even Me and My Katamari.

i saw this a month before the demo came out, and was really looking forward to it, then i played the demo, it looks really really nice, but after 30min of getting in a fight and breaking open a chest, i was really bored. Maybe i didnt give it long enough. but i was really bored.
I really didn't like it from what I played in the demo. The characters seemed typical, the dialog often didn't make much sense, and the combat was really weird. I like RPGs a lot but I don't see why everyone thinks its so great.
The demo does Tales of Vesperia NO TYPE OF JUSTICE. The demo sucked but the game was AMAZING. Anyways i agree, Tales of Vesperia is one of the best jrpgs i've ever played and it deserves more attention.

Guitar Hero / Rock Band

Which series do you think is better? I'd have to say Rock Band.Firstly, my first music game was Guitar Hero 2 for the 360, and i loved it. Played it everyday, beat every song on expert, perfected half of them. I was a guitar hero freak. Same exact thing happened for me on GH3. But then Rock Band came into the picture, i didn't think much of it and thought of it as a rip off, but it was competly different. A very wide range of music selections, a enjoyable career mode that you can do with 3 other friends instead of just 2. I also loved the whole drums/singing that got added into it. Rock Band took over as my favorite game, mainly because Guitar Hero hadn't released anything in awhile. Then around the time RB 2 was coming out, GH had GH World Tour. I bought RB2, and still lovingly play it. I rented world tour, and i have to say i was very displeased. They tried to do the 4 instrument thing, because rock band was taking their spotlight. Being a drummer in real life, i usually play the drums in these games and the drums on Guitar hero were awful for me, the whole look of the game and the cheap noises it makes when you hit the drums before or after a song, the vocal fretboard thing was a little unattractive as well. Also, most of the guitar parts were very, very easy. I didnt feel a challenge like in GH3. I'll have to stick with Rock Band now, mainly because Guitar Hero has introduced more instruments, and hasn't given me challenging songs. It's more focused on 4 player fun instead of the core 1-2 player challenge of GH 1-3.This is just an opinion, don't hate on me.Guitar Hero / Rock Band

GH isn't more challenging.. the hammer on / pull off window is extremely big so solos take no skill at all. Rock Band also gets a lot more DLC.

I was a big Guitar Hero fan and felt the same way when I bought Rock Band 2 and then bought World Tour later, something seemed different about the game for some reason.

I prefer Rock Band. It just seems more like your actually simulating playing the actual song, especially when you're with other people, than just playing a game.
i liked GHWT better. but yeah the DLC is better on RB2 plus lots of ppl still play RB2 online unlike GH:WT

The GHWT drums suck, and the star power mechanic is awful. The actual drums themselves are crappy, the symbols are not needed at all and are flimsy at best, and if you want to use star power you have to stop your current beat and hit both symbols, which is a gigantic pain on songs with even marginally technical/fast beats.

Ive got a question for you. Is getting into a game as horrible as it was in November? I was thinking about starting to get online again with it but dont even want to attempt it if its gonna take 10 minutes to get into a gameIf you still play Gears of War 2....

I had the same problem with the game, but since the last major update, getting a game seems to take no more than a minute.
Gears 2's online portion has gotten A LOT better since November. Most of the glitches have been fixed, Smokes have been balanced out, playlists have been updates so that you get the game-type you want more oftne, math-making is faster, the lag has gotten considerably better and there is a new--better--rank system. If Gears 2 had launched like this it wouldn't have lost so many people such yourself and may still be a contender for #1 on LIVE. So to answer you question: Yes, Gears 2 has gotten considerablly better online.
I have no problem getting into a match at all...I'm playing as I sppeak lol.
i would say five minutes is the longest ive waited for a match in awhile, but usually its really fast idk if its like that for all the game modes as i only play annex

there's an update coming, so it's just going to keep improving. plus new maps, new achievements and a new campaign chapter all coming soon. you gain experience while playing horde as well, so now there's even more reason to keep playing.it just sucks if you suck and i SUCK.

Triple A games that you never finished.

I have to admit that I'm terrible about starting a game, even one that I really really like, and then never finishing it. I've been better about it this generation because I've made a conscious effort to finish the games that I buy, but I haven't been perfect. Case in point for me, Bioshock and The Orange Box. I very nearly finished Bioshock and then for some reason just stopped playing. Same with The Orange Box, about half way through Episode 2. I'm planning on going back and finishing these during the somewhat leaner summer gaming months, but I was wondering what games you all liked but for some reason couldn't bring yourselves to finish.Triple A games that you never finished.

GTA4. It's BORING. IDK. I know there is always stuff to do (I miss the mini-missions they cut from 3+), and it DOES have a good story, but it unfolds so slowly and I don't care about the people I get my missions from. They are all forgettable.I am still working on Oblivion.

Me too haha. Halo 3, I got it for the hype, everyone said it was great, I sold it a few days later.
Assassins Creed. i really tried to like that game. but in the end i just couldnt take it anymore. oh and GTAIV.
Dead Rising, it was sooo boring. I played it for 45 minutes and already hated it. Traded it back in immediately.

I think red ring of death is the obvious answer. The 360 would be so much better with out and imagine how good things could have been for the 360 launched technical problem free. Who know where Microsoft could have been in the console race. They certainly could have used any advantage they could get in the Japanese market.

Bethesda isn't making the new fallout, obsidian is so... Still, probably not for a while.
On UESP there was an article awhile back qouting someone from Bethesda saying that a new ES game would be coming out in 2010, just a rumor though.
next console generation. thats what bethesda does. they release one elder scrolls per generation. these games take years and years to make.

I wanted a new Elder Scrolls as well. How long has it been since it came out? At this point, with no news either with E3 or news leaks, it's a sure bet that no Elder Scrolls game would come out in the next few years.

I get tired of all the comments saying the Wii is for kids. It only shows that you are all still kids. The Wii is a console for everyone, with great games for every age. On topic, as another person said, Natal will change all of that. Those games will be directed at the casual crowd and the younger audience.

Children are beyond help these days. 10 is new 13 basically, if they aren't well raised by then it will be like talking to a wall. But sadly, its not even their fault its the parents and pop culture media. Yeah videogames has a hand in the downfall of our society but celebrities and the message of ''tolerance'' had a much greater effect than videogams.
you know who should be thinking of the children? the parents, microsoft caters to their target market and is successfully doing so; im sure most parents have the mental capacity to figure which console and which games are right for their children, instead of purchasing a console and not wanting to buy any games for their child

How have video games messed up society? I have been playing violent games for around fifteen years and I don't disrespect others or beat people up.
The Wii is for kids. that is my opinion. 360 and ps3 are for more mature people. Sorry i dont sit in my room acting cool with my wiimote.
Video games only affect the weak minded, who allow themselves to think video games are real. Now, they just blame it on the video games, because in Modern america, you cant blame people. Its always someone elses fault. I dont think video games will mkae kids violent, if you educate the properly.

Why is it that there isnt a joint xbox/pc multiplay area?PC XBOX Online Play

Shadowrun was the first and is a FPS.



Not too sure on the others, but I think one was Universe at War which is an RTS.
Not sure about future games but I wouldn't see why not. They have the capabilies to do it. The only problem with something like MW2 is that it's a multiplatform game (XBOX360 and PS3 to name the main ones) and allowing someone to play cross platform woudl open up a can of worms. I guess that Microsoft could do that but then Infinity Ward would be neglecting the PS3 users who wanted to play with their PC friends and I don't think at this point they're willing to do that.
Yeah, its just shame because i have lots of pc friends.

1080i vs 1080p on 360 games

my friend said there is no difference but hes not the smartest so i was just wondering if there is any difference1080i vs 1080p on 360 games
ya one is 30fps (1080i) the other is 60fps (1080p) image quality is identical. Regardless to whoever tells you otherwise. 1080p/i - 1920x1080 ... its just like a resolution on your computer monitor. So think of it this way. You can have a refresh rate of 60MHz or 30MHz. Unless your playing something that is intense intense action (lots and lots of explosions) even a game like halo 3 looks fine in 1080i and if rendered in 1080p its still the EXACT SAME RESOLUTION its just a faster refresh rate of the screen allowing for more fluid looking animation... im so sick of people saying there is an image difference between 1080i and 1080p .... go to your computer monitor. Play a game at 30fps and then at 60fps ... it looks identical. It just doesnt refresh as fast.1080i vs 1080p on 360 games
You seem to be confusing framerate with rendering mode though?

1080p just means that the resolution is the same, but with each frame refresh you get a full frame, i.e. the ''scan'' is progressive. As opposed to 1080i where you essentially get half frame (every other horizontal line) whereby the scan is interlaced.

It has nothing to do with framerate, because a game running at 30fps can be engine locked to run no faster than 30fps, but could still render in both 1080i and 1080p. The framerate would be the same, but the rendering mode would be different.

your very wrong, 1080i is actually half of the resolution. it shows a screen resolution is has half as many lines on the screen and one frame it shows all the even lines, and the next it shows all the odd line. this is what sdtvs did and when images are still it looks like a sharper resolution than it is. when ur playing games the difference is noticable due to the interlacing is not able to show u the animation properly when the screen moves and updates fast.

the fact is out of all the hd video modes 1080i is the worst mode, 720p is the 2nd best, and 1080p is the best. 1080i is actually a lower resolution than 720p. the difference between i %26 p resolutions inst frame rate, its thats one picture is interlaced (1 screen shows odd lines then next shows even) and the other is progessive (full picture on the screen the whole time every frame)

if you look at that picture you will see theres only 540 lines on the screen on 1080i, but with 720p theres 720 lines, this allows for more detail and better quality animation when its displayed on ur screen. if you have a plasma or lcd tv you should always use the progressive resolutions for best possible picture, these are progressive screens, if you use interlaced pictures on them then they will never look as good, crt monitors and sdtvs tend to be interlaced and the glass screen usually has a filter to take away the effect, but interlaced on a progressive screen shows up the interlacing



rememeber



1st 1080p, 2nd 720p, 3rd 1080i



use the best one ur tv supports. if it has a screen resolution of 1900 x 1080 then use 1080p, if it has anything below that then use 720p



just because 1080i has bigger numbers in the name does not mean its a better picture than 720p although the numbers are misleading,, its simply not true, and 1080i is not even close to being the same as 1080p.



the p %26 i is not the refresh rate, its the rending mode of the tv, your tv's refresh rate is independant of redering mode
